Claire's 9 month well check.

Claire had her 9 month well check yesterday. Today she is 9 months 2 weeks old exactly. Claire weighs 20lbs and is 28 1/2 inches long. That means she is in the 75 % for weight and 90 % for length.

Claire is my last baby and I cannot believe she is growing up so fast. I told Caleb we should have had about 6 kids because ours are so pretty. Oh well, to late now!

Dr. Medford said Claire's verbal is great for her age.

She can say:
Hi
Da Da
Daddy
Momma
Dog
Fish (thith)
That (dat)

Claire started crawling from room to room one week before she turned 9 months. This seemed late to me (morgan was walking @ 9 months) but Dr. Medford said Claire is still ahead because the average crawl time is 10 or 11 months (that is hard for me to believe).

Claire can also pull up in her crib and she has done it a few times on furniture.
Poor Baby!

(Claire thought laying in a box would be fun, so as usual I snapped a picture) I can't think of anything else at the moment so that's all for now!

Getting Away!

This week was our much anticipated vacation! We drove to Albuquerque and stayed one night then we went on to Durango where we spent 5 nights! We went to a chuck wagon dinner, rode the train, shopped, and camped. Our camp site was right on the river, they had a cute park, a pool, and they showed movies outside at night! This was our girls first time to camp and they both loved it!(I was worried about Claire because she just got really moble but she was fine!) We slept in a tent and everything, you should be so proud of me. Actually it was not bad the wind did not blow and it didn't rain so things were pretty calm. Caleb packed a fan for daytime & a heater for nighttime so we stayed fairly comfortable! We also rode the Alpine slide and did this cool bungee tramp! It was so fun! Caleb did flips on it. ( Side Bar I am so bummed because I had some awesome pictures 300ish and I accidentally deleted them.BOO!) UMMM... Morgan roasted marshmallows and hot dogs, fished & fed the chipmunks at lake Haviland. We also visited a Bee Farm it was cool! We really had a great time! I read a book and started another, bought my annual Christmas ornaments, & I took naps! We went from Durango to Red River and stayed one night there. We didn't do too much there mostly walked the river and played hearts! Caleb & I spanked his parents in hearts! We drove home today. Oh we ate lunch at the St. James Hotel, it was very cool! Anyway here is a slide show minus the 300 pictures I lost BOO!BOO!

Are you guys reading this stuff?

Whaaaa....I haven't gotten any comments in a while!

On to my post. Some of you have asked how my parents house is coming so I took some pictures yesterday. Here is the front! Beautiful.

This is the kitchen...very Tuscan old world looking. She is going to put a cross on this hood.(my idea)
This is the awesome mural & back splash. I love the color of the cabinets. The kitchen is my favorite room so far!

This is the view from the living room to the kitchen, breakfast nook, and hallway.

This is the formal dining it is turquoise. They put a white glaze on top but I think it's to white. Mom is trying to decide what other color to put on top of the white. Any suggestions?
This is the tower. It is also turquoise. I think she is going to do a bronze on top.
This is the fireplace in the Master bedroom. The door on the left goes to the laundry room/ sewing room.
Tub and shower. There will be some kind of glass between.
This is the master bath. I know turquoise but it really is beautiful.
Awww... Claire & I giving mom moral support while she glazed the hallway.
This is the worlds sweetest baby.

There is still a lot to be done on the house. I'll post more pictures as it gets closer to being finished.

My Precious!

Let me start with a few cute pictures of the three most precious people in my life! Caleb, Claire, & Morgan
Here is a cute one on Claire clapping!Okay on to the blog! I am pooped! Today I went shopping for the girls some school clothes. Morgan stayed with her Noni so I could get more done.
I have to say that I am all about bargain shopping! I did great today! I love that feeling. I got Morgan a dress, 2 outfits, & the cutest hat(I hope she will wear it). I got Claire 1 pair of soft pants that can be worn with 2 shirts, & another outfit.( the girls outfits are matching)I LOVE IT!!!SO FUN! I got a shirt and some cute shoes for me! And all of this for the LOW price of $70.00 I know, I ROCK!
In other news Claire is officially crawling now. She has been doing it for about 4 days! She is so cute but boy it can wear a momma out! I forgot. I guess she will be learning her boundaries now! Her are some pictures. She has also learned to sit up in her crib, so naps have been challenging.

I am also trying to wean her a little, or at least spread out her feedings more. She is so different from Morgan. I think it's going to be a little tougher this time. I am so ready to have my body back again, and to get to wear cute bras again. I told my husband that as soon as she stops nursing I am buying all new bras and panties and throwing the old ones out! I can't wait!!!
School starts in a couple weeks but first comes vacation which will throw what ever(small though it may be) routine we do have off. Last time we went out of town it took Claire 3 nights to sleep good in her bed again. I dread that. We are going camping so the crawling issue will also be interesting.I guess there is not much else to speak of... so I'll blog more later!

Online Marketing – What 2 Texas ‘HomeTown Girls’ Learned about Corralling Buyers

Commentary by Mike Parker
RISMEDIA, August 8, 2008-If you were attending an educational session at a major convention it is highly doubtful that two “HomeTown Girls” as they call themselves, from Amarillo-each a grandmother-would be featured on the program giving tips on how to succeed in online marketing. After all, who would think that two agents-one an agent five years, the other just three-located in a place that gets very little press-could have discovered something that would help sophisticated folks in New York or San Francisco?
The two agents, Debbie Moore and Karen Malone, are with Prudential ADA. Having sold 12 houses from their personal website this year ([1] www.moreamarillohomes.com), these mainstream real estate agents are receiving about 20-25 good leads each week from their site. Even now, they are continuing to average more than one home sale each month from their site. What do they know that you don’t know?
“My clients think I am on the ‘cutting edge’ of real estate marketing,” says Moore . “The Internet is a major factor in the way we do business. We knew that the Internet would only get stronger as time went along and because we are so easy to find on the Internet, we are selling homes to folks from outside our basic marketing area as well as within it.
“We had one buyer who was moving here from the East Coast and found our website. They began to correspond with us and soon I was setting up property searches for them so they could ‘shop online.’ I previewed a home for them and sent them additional pictures. They wrote the offer and put a home under contract with us without ever having set foot in our town. They came to town in time to sign the papers, pick up their keys and move in. Another time we were working with two out-of-town agents helping a family relocate here. They told us that they put in all sorts of different searches online and that we kept coming up, so they figured we knew what we were doing in real estate, since we obviously seemed to know about online marketing.”
According to Moore , early in her career, she would sign up for ‘Internet leads’ from lead providers.
“Some of those sources worked, but most did not,” she says. “I had enough success to realize that there had to be a better way of attracting buyers and I believed that the Internet was the way. Karen and I signed up for a good template website and for CompassSearch. Nothing happened from the website, but once I added the search we started to sell homes to Internet buyers. Karen and I are very good friends and both of us are grandmothers. Our goals are to take very good care of our clients and to spend lots of time with our families. We’re in the real estate business and we love it. We may never be “top producers,” but we play just as hard as we work and we kind of let the numbers take care of themselves. We just do our best in every situation and enjoy the journey.”
According to Moore , her Web presence not only helps sell homes, but helps her gain listings, too.
“I use our Internet presence as a selling point by taking some of our website reports to listing presentations to show prospective sellers that we receive plenty of traffic and lots of inquiries from our site,” she says. “They all are impressed because they know that selling homes involves the Internet, today. They are all very impressed that two Grandmothers who bill ourselves as ‘The HomeTown Girls’ can actually be so technologically strong. They know we have the local knowledge but they are sold when we show them our Internet positions.”
Moore and Malone specialize in Canyon, Bushland and Amarillo , Texas Real Estate. The total population of these three cities and towns is about 266,000 people. There are plenty of real estate agents servicing that population, too, but if you go to Google® and type in Amarillo TX Real Estate, you’ll find Karen Malone and Debby Moore right there on page one, currently in the number two listing, just below Realtor.com.
“We work with a lot of first-time home buyers and people relocating to the Amarillo area, thanks to Internet leads. We don’t have a specialty as far as type of property we sell. We just sell great homes to wonderful Panhandle people,” says Moore . “And if anyone asked for my advice, I’d tell them this: never give up. If you are practicing traditional real estate strategies that aren’t working for you anymore, you might want to embrace the newer technologies and marketing strategies that utilize the Internet.”
Compare how you go about selling today to how these Grandmothers are succeeding in their part of the world. Is there something you can learn from them? If people can’t find you online, you need to make it so they can. If you don’t have a personal website, you need to get one. When you have those two things, you can work smarter at succeeding in the part of real estate that everyone wants to succeed in, but that very few do succeed in: online marketing. It’s where 84+% of residential real estate sales start today and it’s the place where 80+% of Internet buyers find their agent-through a major search engine.
The Internet is just too important to not be a part of your plan to succeed. The Internet is the great leveler: You can be as savvy as they come from a big city and succeed, or you can be relatively new from a small area and succeed. The key thing is that you can succeed. Just ask Debbie Moore .
