Goblin!

We had a ton of fun at the Malone house this weekend. For the past 3 years we have carved a pumpkin for Halloween and this year was no exception. We let Morgan choose the "face" this year and she wanted a picture of the goblin from the carving book we bought. Morgan called it the devil. It kind of creeped me out that she would choose the devil but in the end it's all fun (and it's really a goblin so that makes it a little better) I did not have much faith in Caleb but he pulled off carving this "goblin" and it looks pretty cool!

Every year Morgan and I pull out the pumpkins guts (I love getting messy) Then we cook the seeds and eat them. Morgan thinks this is so cool and the seeds taste really good!

I think Morgan likes to get messy too!

Morgan and Caleb had fun carving the pumpkin.

You can't really see it in the light.

Here is the finished product. I love this picture with Morgans face in the light of the pumpkin. It's spooky!

If you know where we live you should drive by at night and look at our "devil" pumpkin!
Happy Halloween!

Family Date!

Caleb and I try to do something fun with the girls every weekend. Sometimes we tell them we are going on a family "date" Morgan loves it! This weekend we decided to take them to the corn maze. Besides navigating through the corn maze there is a big slide, a cow train, a hayride, a mini maze (made from hay bales), a hay jump etc.

Okay lets just get to the cute pictures.

Morgan climbing the rock wall ( by the way I noticed that I wasn't worried about her climbing this by herself, that was a sad, strange revelation to me)

I'm sure you can see that my favorite part of any outing is taking cute pictures of my girls! As I tell Morgan we have to have a memory!

Time flies when your having fun!

I got a lot accomplished this week. First of all I feel like I have eradicated the fleas! Praise be to God. I did a lot of vacuuming and praying as well as washing laundry. I washed so much that I burned up the drain pump on my washing machine. My husband accused me of going overboard but I don't think so. Caleb rigged my washer so hopefully it will drain. I am testing it with a load of jeans right now.
I also went and spoke to a counselor at A.C. about going back to school in the spring. She said I have enough classes to apply for the nursing program now but the three basic I lack are difficult(microbiology, A & P 1 & 2) so I am not going to apply until I get a couple of them under my belt. It will be spring 10 when I apply. The program takes 2 1/2 years to complete so I am looking at being finished right before Claire goes to kindergarten. It's perfect because I don't want to work until both the girls are in school. It seems like a long time to be in school but I can either be a nurse in 2013 or be exactly where I am now in 2013. I know it will be hard but I'm going to do my best! I am so excited! Did you know a nurse starting out makes 19 to 24 dollars an hour. As of right now I would like to work on the OB floor at the hospital. I want to work with the Mommas. The nurses I had when I was in labor were such a blessing to me. I want to bless someone in return! Otherwise I would like to work in recovery. Well that is what has been going on with me this week. Oh Claire turned 11 months yesterday. Time flies when your having fun!

My Weekend Splurge!

I did it!!! I splurged and got my hair colored by an actual hairstylist! I usually don't want to spend my money there so I buy a box of what ever color fits my mood at the moment and put it on at Salon De La Malone! lol. I have got to say my color was well worth the extra bucks. I love it!

What do you think? It is exactly what I wanted. Very warm and fall like!

Here are a few bonus pictures because I know how much everyone loves new pictures of my children!

This is Morgan and my beautiful niece Zaylee Belle. They are 9 months apart and best friends!

The Good and the Bad and Red River

First of all THE GOOD...
Claire bear will be 11 months old on Thursday. I wanted to have her weaned at 11 months because thats when Morgan weaned herself and it seemed to work out well. I didn't think this would happen because Claire really enjoyed nursing (noo noo) while Morgan ate to survive. I had weaned her down to 2 feedings 1am and 6am (crazy I know) I was trying to get her off the 1am feeding so when she woke up I would just ignore her and she would go back to sleep. Tuesday night she slept thru the night to 7:45am so when Caleb brought her to me it was too late for a morning feeding. She tried to lay down and nurse and I told her "all gone" well she threw a fit and I just said "all gone baby" and offered her milk(she pushed it away)After a few miniutes she just sat there staring into space (she looked so sad). Then finally she looked at her milk cup pointed and said "that" I gave her a drink and that was the end of it! I have not nursed since Tuesday morning at 6am. We are officially weaned !!!! YEAH! She was kinda cranky today at school but she will be fine. I am sad too in a way. It is bittersweet, because I love nursing my babies and she is my last.

NOW THE BAD...
My animals have fleas....EWWWW..... I am really a freak about all things crawly. Especially things that bite and suck blood! My cat and both dogs have them. I put some drops on the dogs and Jerry totally flipped out. He pulled out a patch of hair about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide down his back. He also pulled out all the hair on his arm. POOR DOG. Last night both dogs were throwing up foam because they licked some of the drops.( don't worry I called the manufacturer and they said that is what the dogs would do but it wouldn't kill them) Thank goodness it didn't I couldn't bear to see Morgan lose another animal. Neither dog slept at all last night they just whined and wiggled and itched and whined some more. Finally Caleb and I locked them in our room and we slept on the couches. (not too good either)

Okay so I think I have caught this problem early and after speaking to a bug guy I decided to treat my animals first, clean really good, spray the yard and see if there are anymore fleas on my pets in 2 weeks. If there are I am going to have him treat the house and the yard. Please pray that treating my pets will solve the problem. This is so gross I can hardly stand being in the house much less having my kids here. I have never had to deal with fleas before so if ya have any advice I'll be glad to hear it. Here are some pictures of Jerry's back and leg.

Is that not the most pitiful thing you've ever seen.

And now RED RIVER...
This past weekend we went to Red River with some people from our church. It was just a little get away for the sole purpose of FUN! My camera died after the first morning so here are some pictures of us eating muffins and one of Claire pushing her toy!

We had a ton of fun just shopping and fellowshiping!

Is it Wednesday yet?

A couple of weeks ago Morgan and I were talking about her day at school. She told me that she had told her friends they could come over on Wednesday and play in her room. She told them that she would give them each a stick and a pinecone (her prize possessions by the way). I told her that she needed to ask me before inviting people to the house but that I bet I could talk to their mommies and see if they could come sometime. I thought it was very cute that Morgan was making plans with her friends, she is sure growing up. Anyway all weekend she kept asking me if it was Wednesday yet. She asked me about 5 times before I finally said "Morgan why do you want it to be Wednesday?" She said "because that is the day Ashton, Lainee, & Katie are coming over...remember Mom?" Precious. So I had to invite them over! All the Mom's agreed to let their girls come over and boy did we have fun! Here are some pictures from our day.
Kaite Morgan & Lainee playing dress up!

They had a ball.
When Ashton got here we made cupcakes!
And ate a well balanced lunch of hot dogs, cheese puffs, and chocolate milk!
Then we decorated the cupcakes.
Yummy! Spooky cupcakes!

This is the first time Morgan has had friends over just because. It was so much fun. We listened to the Enchanted sound track while we made the cupcakes. I am so glad I had girls they are tons of fun. I'm sure this will be the first of many girl parties at the Malone house!!!
