A Race For The Cure!

The race for the cure was held today and my in-laws live on the route of the run. All the houses along the route are encouraged to decorate in pink to support the runners and this year we participated! I painted the signs! Here is the house.
The girls & our creation.

There is a prize for the best house. Tom & Karen had the girls(angel & morgan) spend the night last night,
this morning Caleb & I went over early, ate breakfast, and helped decorate the yard. It was so much fun and the girls had a blast! Morgan kept saying "this is the best morning ever!" Claire had fun too.

All the houses who participated had great decorations and the runners kept saying how good the yard looked. Here is a picture of the runners! This was one of the runners dog. (too cute)
This is the family watching the race!

News channel 7 came by and filmed our yard it will be on tonight at 10 so watch if you can! This was tons of fun and for such a good cause.

Back in business!

I got my new camera today! Yippee!!! It looks really good and it seems to work. It feels like it is a little lighter than my other one(i don't know why it would be). It also deletes a little slower than my other one, but all in all it seems very nice. Here are the few pictures from the fair before I dropped my old camera!

I am Blessed!

glitter-graphics.com
I am really Blessed, let me tell you how much!
You know I dropped my camera and broke it. Well obviously I have to buy a new one so I have been shopping around. I think we paid 120.00 for the broken camera which is now discontinued by the way. The least expensive camera I found was 84.00 at Walmart. I really don't have 85 to 100 dollars to spend on a new camera. Let me tell you I am the kind of person who spends my check on paper long before it is in my pocket. Yes, I have planned where all my checks are going to be spent up to Christmas! Crazy I know. And I did not budget in for this unexpected expense.
Anyhoo back to my blessing. I tried bidding on a couple of refurbished cameras on eBay and I didn't win. There was another camera (exactly like mine) that I was watching because the person selling it said it was their personal camera and that it was in great shape. The only reason they were selling it is that they upgraded to a better camera! BINGO~PERFECT!
I bid on the camera and guess what! I WON for the low price of 43.00 with free shipping!
.....the blessing of the Lord maketh the rich and crown the head of the righteous.....
Okay so if that is not blessing enough today I sold 42.00 in bows! Is that great or what! God knew I had my heart set on spending my pay checks elsewhere and He made a way for me to get to do that!
I think I might be his favorite! (you are too!)

Boo Hoo :~(

I went to the fair today and I took my camera so that I could take pictures of Claire @ her first fair. Well Morgan and Zaylee were holding hands walking in front of me and I thought it would be a fantastic picture so I grabbed my camera(that I love) When I did I fumbled with it and it went crashing to the ground. The lens popped off and now my camera is no more! If you know me then you know that I take my camera everywhere and I take pictures all the time. EVERYDAY! I am so sad because now I have to buy a new one with money I don't really have. I have no choice though because Claire's birthday is right around the corner. When I called and told Caleb he said "this is the 2nd Camera I've bought in the last two years". You see I dropped our last one too about a year ago. OOPS! I told him I promise I didn't throw it and if he took pictures as much as I do he would probably drop the camera too.(sometimes) I need to invent some kind of bouncing skin to put your camera in. HMMM....Maybe I could make some money! Anyway I am looking at cameras on ebay maybe I can get one like my old one for half the money.

A Much Needed Laugh! Enjoy!

I feel like my blog has gotten kinda serious so here is a great e~mail I received! I guarantee you will laugh and maybe even relate!

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for the modern 'seat covers' (invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR! ), yank down your pants, and assume ' The Stance.' In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles begin to shake. You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold 'The Stance.' To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, 'Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!' Your thighs shake more. You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topples backward against the tank of the toilet. 'Occupied!' you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT . It is wet of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, 'You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get.' By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too. At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting. You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, 'Here, you just might need this.' As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks, 'What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?' This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door! This HAD to be written by a woman! No one else could describe it so accurately!

Zoe died

I guess our little Zoe girl was just too unhealthy. She had been having diarrhea and this morning it was black. (I guess blood) When we got home from KU I found her dead. I am so sad and my sweet Morgan cried her eyes out. Zoe was a very special kitty. She loved to be around people. She always wanted in someones lap. Zoe liked to sit on Caleb's shoe, yes while it was on his foot. She was precious and so tiny. We will miss her sweet nature. I really wish she would have made it. I loved her, it's amazing how quickly you fall in love with an animal. We only had her 5 days but they were full of memories. We had a little funeral foe her. Zoe was 6 1/2 weeks old. WE LOVE YOU ZOE!
We will miss you!

I did not know what to do so I took Morgan to Coronado pet shop & bought another cat. She is very healthy, 8 weeks old & 4X the size of Zoe. Morgan named her Giselle.
Here she is~

Update!

Our Kitten is doing great using the litter box. Yeah!!! I do have a problem though. She was fed formula so she is having a hard time eating dry food. The vet told me not to give her milk ( I did anyway so she would eat and she got diarrhea) I didn't give her any milk today or yesterday and she has not eaten.(I wet her food with water)
HELP! I need her to eat! But minus the runs!

A new Addition to Our Family

We did it! Today we adopted our kitten. Her name did change. It is Zoe Giselle! She is 11 ounces and is 6 weeks old. She has the most beautiful markings and is going to be long haired!

The moment Caleb agreed to letting us have a kitten I began praying! I wanted a female and I prayed that she would be a friendly cat that Morgan could play with! Zoe is an answer to prayer! She is so sweet tonight she fell asleep in Morgan's lap!

She is very malnourished though and was infested with fleas! I treated her already so please agree with me that they are all dead and gone!

According to her previous owner her mother was injured shortly after the litter was born and the kittens had to be bottle fed. I think her being handled a lot will be good since my kids are so little!

Please pray that she learns to use the litter box quickly! (If you have any suggestions lets hear them!)
And pray that she grows stronger! She is very playful and loves Caleb. I think that is so funny because he was dead set against getting a kitten.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. I think she is very beautiful and super sweet!

Our first day back @ KU!

Yesterday was our first day back at K.U. Here are some pictures of us before we left home that morning. This year I am teaching in the two year old class again. We really had a very easy first day. Things went very smoothly and the kids were very well behaved. We have a good group this year and I am excited to watch them learn and grow. We are also going to have a lot of fun!!!

Claire is in the nursery again this year. She seemed to have a good first day. I don't think she cried obsessively and she only nursed once. Everyone please keep her in your prayers though because she will have a harder transition time than Morgan (who is gung-ho)I think the roughest part of Claire's day was nap times. She really likes her room and her bed so pray that she will adjust quickly to this new strange place.

Morgan is in the 4 year old class this year:~( Oh my gosh how did that happen? She is so big. She loves school and was so excited about her first day. Her teachers seem great. I know Teresa and Debra seems very nice. I think Morgan really liked her. When I asked Morgan what she did on her first day she said they colored "A Lot", She drew a picture of herself "no one else" , they tried to play outside but it was too cold so they played "centers", and " that's it Mommy I don't want to tell you anything else!"

Well excuses me miss thang!

Over all I think Our first day was a success. We can only hope our second day will be as good!
