First of all THE GOOD...
Claire bear will be 11 months old on Thursday. I wanted to have her weaned at 11 months because thats when Morgan weaned herself and it seemed to work out well. I didn't think this would happen because Claire really enjoyed nursing (noo noo) while Morgan ate to survive. I had weaned her down to 2 feedings 1am and 6am (crazy I know) I was trying to get her off the 1am feeding so when she woke up I would just ignore her and she would go back to sleep. Tuesday night she slept thru the night to 7:45am so when Caleb brought her to me it was too late for a morning feeding. She tried to lay down and nurse and I told her "all gone" well she threw a fit and I just said "all gone baby" and offered her milk(she pushed it away)After a few miniutes she just sat there staring into space (she looked so sad). Then finally she looked at her milk cup pointed and said "that" I gave her a drink and that was the end of it! I have not nursed since Tuesday morning at 6am. We are officially weaned !!!! YEAH! She was kinda cranky today at school but she will be fine. I am sad too in a way. It is bittersweet, because I love nursing my babies and she is my last.
NOW THE BAD...
My animals have fleas....EWWWW..... I am really a freak about all things crawly. Especially things that bite and suck blood! My cat and both dogs have them. I put some drops on the dogs and Jerry totally flipped out. He pulled out a patch of hair about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide down his back. He also pulled out all the hair on his arm. POOR DOG. Last night both dogs were throwing up foam because they licked some of the drops.( don't worry I called the manufacturer and they said that is what the dogs would do but it wouldn't kill them) Thank goodness it didn't I couldn't bear to see Morgan lose another animal. Neither dog slept at all last night they just whined and wiggled and itched and whined some more. Finally Caleb and I locked them in our room and we slept on the couches. (not too good either)
Okay so I think I have caught this problem early and after speaking to a bug guy I decided to treat my animals first, clean really good, spray the yard and see if there are anymore fleas on my pets in 2 weeks. If there are I am going to have him treat the house and the yard. Please pray that treating my pets will solve the problem. This is so gross I can hardly stand being in the house much less having my kids here. I have never had to deal with fleas before so if ya have any advice I'll be glad to hear it. Here are some pictures of Jerry's back and leg.Is that not the most pitiful thing you've ever seen.
And now RED RIVER...
This past weekend we went to Red River with some people from our church. It was just a little get away for the sole purpose of FUN! My camera died after the first morning so here are some pictures of us eating muffins and one of Claire pushing her toy! We had a ton of fun just shopping and fellowshiping!

How fun!! I love Red River. I haven't ever experianced fleas but I know it is frustrating. Great job on nursing Claire for so long!!
I am glad that things are going pretty good with you. I know the flee thing can be frustrating. My dogs don't have that bad of an reaction but a vet once told me to bath them in dawn dish soap. congrats on weening claire.
