UNreligion me Lord!

I was having a conversation with my husband the other day and here is how it went. We were discussing how religious people are and how to some its a constant struggle of am I doing my part or am I doing enough. Now a lot of people these days say they are not religious because in the world religion has put a bad taste in peoples mouth. Un~religion me Lord! I told Caleb that I am almost to the point that I don't even want to say I'm a Christian. Now don't shut me off here! I think I'm going to refer to myself as a "JESUS" person! I want to reach people and some have had such a bad experience with Christians that they won't have anything to do with us anymore...how SAD! Anyway I think you know the point I am making.

Ok back to the am I doing enough thing.

I have come to the place in my walk that I realise Its not about what I do but who I am. When Jesus was on the cross He said " It is Finished" and I don't think he was referring to the Crucifixion. I think he was saying SIN is finished! When you are born again you become a New Creation. You are COMPLETE the MOMENT you receive Christ! "It is FINISHED"! We are no longer sinners but saints! I am not saying we don't mess up from time to time but we do not "practice" sin.
As we begin walking in that new creation man our old ways of living just are not what we want anymore so in turn they start falling away. When we understand what He did for us we don't want to live the way we used to live! We want to live that new creation life!
Yes we learn and we grow in Christ but it is not something that is being added to us, it is all there when we are saved it just has to be revealed to us! A good example is a Map. It is all there it just needs to be unfolded! We are Complete and Jesus is UNFOLDING our completeness!
What can we do to aid in this unfolding process? Well there is that word do again. I think we just need to be who we were created to be. We were created for worship. As we take focus off of ourselves and what we need to "do" and focus on worshiping God in every aspect of our lives He unfolds us! We all know we cannot change ourselves no matter how hard we try so lets stop trying to "get there" on our own it just makes you tired. The New creation man is a gift not a struggle so lets rest in Him!
~Blessings as He unfolds you!
