Tie Dye cake!!

Morgan's birthday theme this year was tie dye so I googled tie dye cakes and found this cool idea!! I used 2 box cake mixes whitish (I used butter yellow) and prepared the batter according to directions on box. Then I split the batter into 6 bowls 1 1\2 cups of batter per bowl. I used neon food coloring gel to get these bright colors! The gel only had pink, lime, orange, and purple so I used drop food coloring for the yellow and then blue and green to make turquoise. I didn't use a specific amount of gel in each bowl I just added color until It was what I wanted! After that is done I greased my pans and added batter. The first color needs to be 3\4 cup and every color after that needs to be 1\2 cup. One pan goes pink, yellow turquoise, purple, orange then lime and the other pan goes in reverse order!

Here is how it looks when both pans are finished.
Bake as directed on box and let cool completely! They look so awesome!

When they are finished cooling stack on top of each other and ice them! I used one big jar of icing but I should have used 2, it would have looked better. To get that pretty pink icing I mixed pink gel into white icing!

Here is what it looked like on the inside.

If you notice one of my cakes is upside down. I went to all the trouble of inverting the color order then stacked them wrong...lol so don't make the same mistake I did!

It tasted good too! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN!

Here http://www.omnomicon.com/rainbowcake is the blog I found this cake on but I want to warn you the language is explicit, it was ok though because the cake is awesome!
